Hi Laura & Richard, I was going to wait a few more days to send this but I just couldn't wait to tell you how pleased we are with Bael (AKA Romeo). He is such a good tempered dog! We had numerous people stop by and he just greets them with a wagging tail (unlike my Chihuahua) I do understand that it takes them awhile before they show their true temperament but I can see his confidence already. Romeo has a hard bite but stops when told and then I just supplement the arm biting with a toy and he is good to go. Thanks again.
I will forward pics to you tonight. I had him around a couple full grown male and female corsos and his paws were at least a 1/2 size bigger than the other corso's. Also his leg bones are really thick. As you can see from the pictures his coat looks almost wet it shines so much. He is doing great in training. He actually rushes for the trainers when he sees them and jumps right in his kennel to wait for training to start. He lets every pet him and loves kids. He is a great dog with a very stable temperament. I am very pleased with him.
Romeo is doing great, 5 months old now. He is very obedient and is on his last week of his 5 week training course. He is going to take a week off then we are going to work on a little drive, agility and bite. He has such a good temperament and knows how to turn it on and off. He is still a little immature and young for any real hard core stuff but we are dabbling a little with the PP and a puppy sleeve as he now has all his adult teeth in. I (we) got a firsthand test of what a he can do in a protection type situation. Last week I was laid up with a hurt back and literally could not move off the couch for three days so I finally called 911 to come and get me to the ER and give me the good stuff. Well all the EMT'S (5 total) came in and he greeted them all with a bark and a nudge then was a perfect gentlemen to them as they knelt and talked to me for about 5 minutes or so. Well, when the time came for the to move me I told a family member to let him outside which he did but forgot to lock the door behind them. He burst back in when he heard me scream in pain when they tried to put me on the stretcher. He then proceeded to stand over me and growl at the EMTS. Not a situation I liked but he did in my eyes prove himself. He is doing great and has really come along way with training. He’s a great well mannered pup and one of the best watch dogs I have ever owned.
I know you guys are busy and all and didn't want to seem like I was bothering you. Romeo is doing good and he is the most obediant dog I have ever owned. He is also very drivey, full of energy can bounce around like he is a 20 pound terrier. He is a very strong and intelligent dog, I have done some light protection work with him and on a companion protection level he is on the money. God help the person that ever tries to break in our house or tries to car-jack my family while he is with us. I have done some mock bank ATM scenarios and all he needs to hear is his command and he is at full attention. Its funny but friends and family members cannot believe that such a well mannered "big baby" could be such a fierce protector at the drop of a dime. I will send some pics and maybe a video soon. Summer's here so I will be out doing lots of hiking.
