About Time Cane Corso Rescue:
Our rescue is about the dog, and only the dog.
Nowhere is this more evident than in our rescue program. Since we began working with rescues many years ago, long before we began breeding, we have quietly helped many dogs (both large and small) in need. It is sometimes a very costly process to rescue a dog in need and find a loving home to take care of it for the rest of its life, but one to which we are completely dedicated to. As dedicated Cane Corso breeders, we strongly believe that EVERY responsible breeder owes it to their breed to open their doors up to rescues of their chosen breed when in need. A responsible breeder will ALWAYS take responsibility for their own dogs, in addition to doing everything we can to help when some other irresponsible breeder's dog is about to become unwanted or homeless.
Because there are such negative connotations to the word "rescue", About Time Cane Corso Rescue has chosen to provide this service on a confidential basis. There is no blame, no condemnation, and no disgrace ever assigned to anyone who asks for assistance with their Cane Corso dog/s. There is only help.
Many times the word rescue does not really apply. We receive some dogs who are quite healthy, in good flesh and just need a place to live in retirement or simply need a new family to love and care for them. This process is more of a placement service for people who love this breed and their dog, and simply want the best for their Cane Corso.
It should be noted that we do not become involved in forced rescue. That is accomplished by different legal entities in each state. We will assist only when asked. (We can provide a referral if a situation warrants.)
Please do not be ashamed if you need to give up your Cane Corso or if you know someone who wants to. This breed is not for everyone and sometimes a new situation in the home makes it stressful for the family and the dog. If you do not have the time or patience, or need to place your dog for any reason, please don't hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to try to help you work through the problem, help you place the dog, or take the dog into our rescue program until it can be placed. Sometimes we ask for a donation if the dog needs to be spayed or neutered or needs its shots, but (even if you can't) no dog is refused if we have the room to take it in.
If you can no longer care for or meet the needs for your Cane Corso let us know and we will do our best to assist you. All efforts are confidential. It will be our little secret.
We also volunteer and work with local shelters and rescue groups in our area.
IF YOU WISH TO ADOPT AN AVAILABLE CANE CORSO, see our Available Rescues page and fill out our Adoption Application to inquire about an available Corso. You can also join our notification lists to receive an e-mail notification as new rescues become available!
IF YOU WISH TO SURRENDER / PLACE A CANE CORSO, Please review the following information*, and contact us if applicable. We provide our rescue services thru a personally funded and private interest in helping our breed. While we do everything possible to help rescues in need within reasonable driving distance from us, we do not have nationwide resources directly working with us and we are not able to take on dogs from out of state unless they are transported to us (nearest major airport is Albuquerque, NM).
*If you are located out of state and are not local or reasonably near to us, please review the following options and contact one of the following directly:
- Cane Corso Rescue organization (Nationwide rescue):
Website: CaneCorsoRescue.org / Facebook: CaneCorsoRescue
- West Coast Cane Corso Rescue in California (specific to CA area rescues)
Website: WestCoastCaneCorsoRescue.com / Facebook: West Coast Cane Corso Rescue
- We can also offer a placement assistance service, if you are able to foster for a period of time, and your Corso is spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and of good temperament. You will need to send us a detailed written description of your dog (age, color, sex, weight, temperament, training, acceptance of strangers/adults/children/other dogs/cats, etc), along with several good quality photos of your dog. We can place a listing on our website and present it to many potential adopters in an effort to help you find a suitable screened home.
If you would like to help out and offer a home or financial assistance to a Cane Corso in need, please also contact us. You can provide financial help by sponsoring a current rescue, or simply by making your online purchases thru our affiliate program links.
